Ever since I got my Naturalist education, I knew I was meant to work with making the Whale Watching experience better. I got inspired from being in San Juan, and briefly helping out Maya` s Legacy accompanied by my friend Heather.
Seeing how they did their Whale Watching on the whale` s terms warmed my heart. They would keep 400 meters distance to the orcas, to make sure that the Southern Resident group got to forage in peace. This is a group of endangered orca, and that is why proper Whale Watching is important, to ensure their preservation as a species is being continued.
From there on I was heading back to Norway, and up to the North. Here I got to see what our Whale Watching experience is really like.
After having promoted several Whale Watching companies up North I came to an agreement with my team. This is not good enough. The only Whale Watching tours I support is a company called Dervola, and they do not offer any snorkeling experiences.
You see, all of the Whale Watching companies who offer snorkeling experiences sail their boats parallel with the orcas, in close proximity to mothers and calves. Accidents are prone to happen, and it surely produces high amounts of cortisol in the orcas (stress hormone).
Especially when more than 50 divers and snorkelers are being released into resting pods. It is deeply shocking.
You can enjoy Whale Watching, and enjoy observing from a distance, and when the orcas want to, they will approach you. That is the most important aspect, to respect their freedom.
This is why I am no longer promoting any Whale Watching company other than my own, Keiko Whale Watching. And this is why I decided to hire my own Captain and crew to do the tours, and expand my team, so that you can be guaranteed a Whale Friendly Whale Watching experience while learning about whale and specifically orca conservation.
We will test the hydrophones, and possibly acquire a drone for our tours.
You will be able to snorkel safely with the orcas, as they choose to approach you or not. Observing them in their right element.
For us safety is key, and that is why we only snorkel in clear water, and good weather. Included in your experience with us at Keiko Whale Watching, we have accommodation over 6 days, and breakfast, lunch and a meal for the evening included. There is also a restaurant at the hotel.
We are helpful and will be here to answer any questions you may have. From how to travel, to what to bring with you to Norway.
Feel free to contact us on our Socials, linked at the bottom of this page, to book your tour with us.
Welcome everyone to LUXE Arctic Retreats Norway
Keiko Whale Watching.
LUXE Retreat has just launched a new Arctic experience containing more than just whales, and we tailor it to your preferance. This means you can decide how much whales and wildlife you’d like to explore, and how much of the urban lifestyle and city experience.
We are doing an Intro Retreat, which means some lucky guests have the ability to get our Retreat at a lower price point in exchange for our photography and marketing sessions for the season. This means your experience will be filmed and photographed. The avaliability is from 17-24 October. If this is something you would like, let me know now so we can arrange that for you.
For those of you who would love to do soundbaths with the Whale Watching . We can offer that too.
We also include extatic dancing and ART workshops. I specialize in drawings of cetaceans and snow sculpting.
For the rest of you who would like to enjoy your Retreat experience later. We have a LUXE Retreat for $8000 incl the best hotel in the city. Wildlife excursions with whales, Northern Lights Safari, sound healing, lavvo, bon fire, Reindeer and more. This is extra exclusive as Norway do not let any foreigner hold Retreats, so you simply will not find other Retreats like mine held by Spiritual people who do Whale Conservation in Norway.
My heart is in Whale Conservation, and that is why my workshop will revolve around that.
