We will fill you in on our plans here at this page so stay tuned.
Until then I can tell you that I have been working with Wildlife Conservation since 2011, when I took care of a lone dolphin not too far from when I grew up.
I was educating people about this particular individual, and unfortunately when I was on vacation he ended up being killed by a team of marine biologists, who tried to detangle him from a net he had gotten himself into.
They tried to pull him into a boat for some reason and he panicked and slammed his head several times. The news broke my heart.
I knew we needed a rescue team, a Whale Protection team, so I volunteered with Sound Watch in Pacific Northwest to learn more.
I realized it was the only way, to take matters into my own hands here in Norway.
Since then I have been working to help the orcas in Gibraltar, the Gladis Clan, and been involved in Nature Organizations to better the environment for marine life.
My goal now is to help creating awareness around ethical orca Whale Watching, and research.
I want to implement rules for:
*Research for bacteria samples, without using guns to shoot orcas (and puncture their skin for blubber samples).
*Tracking orca without device, and with use of the public instead.
*Ending whaling. Unfortunately Norway still hunt Minkie Whales.
*Banning diving in baitballs (school of herring) as it disturbs the orcas foraging patterns, and can potentially be dangerous.
*Banning snorkeling in wild sea, and high currents, for Whale Watching Companies. As this is highly dangerous and nearly got me killed. (Only free diving and snorkeling in clear sea)
There will be more to come as we go public with our work. Stay tuned.
